Kieran Alden, postdoc in the Kreft Lab, will be co-chairing a Confidence in Simulations for Science Workshop in Toronto this July. This workshop is co-located with SCSC 2013 as part of SummerSim’13 Conference. Kieran will co-chair the workshop alongside Professor Jon Timmis, Dr Mark Read, and Dr Paul Andrews, all of the University of York's York Computational Immunology Lab
This workshop concerns the issue of establishing whether scientific simulation outputs are truly representative of the systems that they simulate. This is relevant not only to computational immunology, but to the simulation of biological, sociological, ecological and economic systems (and potentially many more). The workshop chairs are inviting the submission of abstracts for discussion at the workshop - the call for which can be found here. Abstract submissions are via EasyChair, and should be submitted before the 1st July 2013.
